1. I am engaged to a wonderful man and we are getting married on June 9, 2007.
2. I was born on November 20, 1978 in Seward, Nebraska.
3. I was raised in Jefferson City, Missouri.
4. I attempted to move to New Jersey right after college but that only lasted 6 weeks before I decided to come back to the Midwest. That’s when I moved to St. Louis.
5. I only wear stud earrings; usually pearls.
6. I have slept with my teddy bear, Frederick, since I was 7. That’s over 20 years. He will be reluctantly retired when I get married next summer.
7. I am deathly afraid of spiders.
8. In college, my best friend was bitten by a brown recluse spider in her apartment. I’ve never seen someone so violently ill. She still has a nasty scar on her leg.
9. I have two cats, Henry and Jackson. I adopted them from a shelter when they were 6 weeks old.
10. Their middle names are John and Daniel, respectively.
11. They are 5 years old now and weigh 20lbs each.
12. I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2004.
13. I’ve also run two ½ marathons and countless 5 & 10-k’s.
14. When I ran the Kona, Hawaii ½ marathon it was 117 degrees outside.
15. I have a degree in Art History from the University of Missouri.
16. In college I was a Kappa Delta and lived in our sorority house for 2 years. I was the house chaplain.
17. I can’t balance my checkbook.
18. I have one brother. He is two years older than me. He is a producer for XM Satellite Radio in Washington, DC.
19. My dad is a radio personality and hosts a local news-talk program called “Daybreak with Warren Krech.”
20. My parents have been married for over 30 years.
21. I lived in Port Aransas, Texas for a summer in college. I spent most of my time on the beach, but also waited tables at a seafood restaurant a few nights a week.
22. I can’t stand seafood of any kind.
23. My fiancé loves sushi, so we eat at sushi restaurants at least twice a month. I always order chicken teriyaki.
24. I have major sleeping problems and rarely sleep for more than 3 hours at a time.
25. I drive a silver 2004 Toyota Camry. It just got seriously messed up in a hail storm. I still need to get it fixed.
26. My fiancé and I want to have 2 children, but not until we’ve been married for at least 2 years.
27. Once we have kids I get to get a Volvo SUV. I can’t wait (for the kids, of course).
28. I love Diet Coke.
29. My favorite foods are strawberries, blackberries, and Filet Mignon.
30. My birthday cake is always a lemon Bundt cake with lemon icing, served with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
31. I am psychotically obsessed with Bruce Springsteen.
32. I am a conservative republican, but I vote democrat on the state level because my fiancé is a trial lawyer and concerned with tort reform.
33. If Bruce Springsteen ran for president, I would vote for him. This shows the extent of my obsession.
34. I collect belts and flip-flops. Most of my belts are grosgrain ribbon.
35. My mom has been a teacher for over 30 years. She is retiring after next year.
36. I have run out of gas at least 4 or 5 times. I hate stopping for gas.
37. I grind my teeth when I sleep. I’ve been told it’s very loud.
38. I’m extremely emotional and I cry at the drop of a hat. And also at Hallmark commercials.
39. I am scared of tap water and will only drink bottled water. If I could afford to bathe in it I would.
40. Henry & Jackson usually only drink from the bathroom faucet.
41. I love baths. When I moved into my apartment I didn’t buy a shower curtain for 6 months because I only took baths.
42. My dad is the funniest person I know.
43. My fiancé and my brother are tied for a close second.
44. I wear Essie’s “Café Forgot” nail polish year-round.
45. In high school I wore dark blue or green nailpolish. I thought it was fabulous.
46. I hate brushing my teeth, but I love flossing.
47. I love red wine. My favorites are Chianti & cabernet.
48. In the summer I drink Tom Collins’s with Bombay gin
49. I played the viola in my high school orchestra. I don’t play anymore but still have my viola because I think it is really beautiful.
50. I love to cut the grass.
51. I was raised in the Methodist church. My faith is extremely important to me.
52. My fiancé is catholic (as are most native St. Louisans). I am in the process of converting so that our children will have a single unified religion to grow up with.
53. I can drive a stick shift.
54. I only still talk to one person I went to high school with, my dear friend Rusty. She lives in Boston so I don’t see her too much.
55. In 3rd grade I got a microscope for Christmas and she and I spent all day going around our neighborhood trying to get someone to give us a blood sample to look at. No one ever did.
56. In 5th grade we went to summer camp together in southern Missouri. It was called “Adventure Camp” but the camp director was an old man who had just had a stroke, so the adventure part was pretty limited.
57. I am a true music-lover. I like everything from opera to hip-hop. I don’t like contemporary Christian music, even though I am a Christian.
58. My first concert was Alanis Morisette in 1994. This was during her “angry” phase. I liked her because I was going through an angry phase of my own.
59. I’ve seen Bob Dylan in concert twice.
60. Bruce Springsteen solo and acoustic at The Fox Theatre in St. Louis is the best concert I’ve ever been to.
61. I talk to my cats like they are people.
62. I recently thought about becoming a vegetarian, but decided that I would still like to eat steak. It sort of fell through after that.
63. I almost never answer my phone at work. I don’t like being caught off-guard, so I let people leave messages so I can be prepared when I talk to them.
64. I actually am really good on my feet; it just makes me nervous so I avoid it when at all possible.
65. I love Christopher Guest movies. “Waiting for Guffman” is my favorite.
66. I’ve been to Graceland twice. I think it is a fantastic place and highly recommend it to anyone.
67. My first car was a 1985 Honda Accord. It was gold with brown interior. It died when I was in college. It had 144k miles on it.
68. I studied Italian and Spanish for several years each, and I can’t speak a lick of either one.
69. I have extremely sensitive skin.
70. I am immune to Poison Ivy. This is very strange to be because of #69.
71. I throw away food on or slightly before its expiration date, even if it still appears fresh. I just want to be sure.
72. Because of this, I have to go the grocery store once a week so stuff doesn’t go bad on me.
73. My biggest pet peeve is misuse of apostrophe’s. (Get it?)
74. My mom calls me Sadie Bug.
75. It sounds a lot like ladybug. We buy each other way too much ladybug paraphernalia to celebrate this.
76. I got my first cat when I was 6. His name was Snuggball. I was very adamant about the fact that is name was spelled with 2 g’s.
77. He died when I was 17. I cried for days.
78. I’ve gotten one speeding ticket. I was 16 and I swear I had my cruise control set at 55 (the speed limit). I’m still ticked off about it.
79. In college I took a literary analysis class that was supposed to be an English class but was taught by a film professor. I wrote my term paper on the movies “Groundhog Day” and “Heathers.” I got an A-.
80. I love the smell of Clean Cotton Yankee Candles.
81. I stop at Starbucks almost every day on my way to work. I alternate between nonfat lattes and Frappucinos.
82. I’ve had two friends die in car accidents.
83. My first real job in high school was at Hy-Vee grocery store as a checker. I quit after about 2 months because I thought it was excruciatingly boring.
84. I worked as a nanny for two little boys after that. It was much more fun.
85. I went on a snorkeling cruise in Hawaii a few years ago. I spent the entire day throwing up over the back of the boat. I asked for my $80 back. They wouldn’t give it to me.
86. The fraternity house across the street from my freshman dorm had a tradition of streaking us during finals. They chained our balconies shut so we couldn’t egg them on. We all hung our heads out the window and caught the show anyway.
87. I’m afraid of the dark and still check my closet before I go to bed. I won’t go into my fiancé’s basement alone at night.
88. I had my appendix taken out in 2001. I just had my gallbladder taken out. I’m hoping that I don’t have to have any more abdominal surgeries.
89. I played Alice in our community children’s theatre production of “Alice in Wonderland” when I was in 7th grade.
90. I took ballet and tap lessons for 12 years. I am a horrible dancer.
91. I played soccer in grade school. I was the goalie. Only recently did I figure out that I was put in this position because I was a horrible player and no one ever made it near the goal.
92. My mom made me hairbows and bought me striped socks that matched my uniform. At least I looked good.
93. My grandfather is an architect that design veterinary hospitals. He was named “Architect of the Year” by Veterinary Economics magazine back in the 1980’s.
94. I wear a stainless steel Swiss Army watch everyday. It’s wearing out and I need a new one. I’m having a hard time parting with it.
95. I’m 5’ tall but my drivers’ license says 5’1”.
96. My fake ID in college said I was 5’9”. I never got questioned when using it.
97. I went skiing for the first time last year. I fell and broke my hand. I will never go again.
98. I’ve been a bridesmaid in 6 weddings. My 7th is this December.
99. Even though my style is generally preppy (madras, seersucker, ribbon belts) I still wear a lot of black. I have 14 pairs of black shoes.
100. I am a very happy person.
