The Sunny Side of the Street
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I like to keep my blog a positive place. Thus, in a time of much negativity here at The Seven Spot, I will do my best to provide balance and as much sunshine as possible. Here goes...
Good News: I have lost 7 pounds since I last posted.
Bad News: In the most miserable and unhealthy way possible.
Good News: I work for a wonderful company which offers me fantastic health insurance at nearly no cost.
Bad News: I just incurred a very large hospital claim.
Good News: Nearly 70% of ERCP with sphincterotomy patients will feel pain relief after the procedure.
Bad News: When I had my first one of these just over a year ago, I was one of the unlucky 30%. We are praying for a statistical shift this time.
Good News: I have great friends that, as their circumstances allowed, either called or visited me while I was inpatient for a week.
Bad News: I have absolutely no recollection of two of these calls/visits (sorry, Amy & Denise). I was on so much pain medicine they put me on oxygen and a heart monitor. Yikes.
Good News: My husband and I gifted each other a Peabody Dream Bed for our wedding. We fell in love with it after a trip to Memphis a few years back, and determined that it is the most comfortable bed in the entire world.
Bad News: The Peabody bed has become my home nearly 24 hours a day for the past week, and will be for the next week to come.
Good News: I have finally convinced my husband of the theory "your wife is a delicate flower."
Bad News: He came around through witnessing me receive 5 different IV sites because my veins were too delicate and they kept going bad. They are all still bruised and sore.
Good News: I became the final member of my family to receive a custom-commissioned oil painting of her beloved cats (remember this post?).
Bad News: My memory on receiving this gift is also a little shady, but at least I have a picture to prove it:
Good News: I will have time to blog now, you lucky ducks, since I'm home from work for at least another week.
Bad News: I'm still on drugs, so get ready for some keen observations for sure.
MWAH!

OMG honey! I am so sorry you're going through this. Please take care of yourself and once you get off the drugs (or not - your call), we must talk!!! Miss you. Mwah, mwah, mwah!

Hi, SadieBug! Glad to see you're back in the blogging world!
Wow! I knew you were kinda loopy when we were visiting in the hospital. But foggy about the oil paining of H & J?? I had no idea you were that loopy! Glad we took pictures! You joke about Dan's loving the painting, but I know you're secretly happy about it! He's thanked me for it every time I've talked with him since then. What fun!

Oh no! They are taking out your sphincter [that's my medical terminology literal translation for you]? Not good, Sarah. Feel better asap! You have every right to feel negative with this junk going on in your life. Big hugs!

Sarah, I am SO sorry to hear that you were in the hospital and going through such a crappy time. Congrats on losing 7 pounds! (JUST kidding! Kind of. :)
I have Crohn's Disease, have I ever mentioned that? I had a resection last year and it sounds like it was a similar experience. I'll say some prayers that this time it's successful! XO
