So, I sort of pulled a Hillary last week and "misspoke" when I said that there wasn't much exciting going on around here...
Meet Baby Trey:
My best friend Heidi and her darling husband Dan welcomed their first child a few weeks ago. PDB the Third, otherwise known as Trey. Given that Heidi and Dan are some of my very favorite people in the whole wide world, I know I'm a little biased.
But seriously.
Is this little guy not breathtaking?
I am in love.
The cute cute cute diaper cake that Leslie & I ordered from Diaper Cakewalk (since I never did get around to emailing you a pic, Les!):
(I promised Heidi I wouldn't put her post-C-section picture on my blog, even though I thought she looked fantastic).
When a huge milestone like this happens for someone as special as Heidi, you can't help but get a little emotional. I could never put into words the things that she and I have experienced together. But since I love nostalgia, I'll give it a go. From the moment I met Heidi in the bathroom at Black & Gold at an upscale, trendy nightclub in Columbia, she's been my BFF...
- Our first party night together: KA Roller Kegger and (I think) a very random party in the Evans Scholar basement
- Two years of sharing a bunk bed in a 12 x 14 room in the Kappa Delta house. "Um, can we switch mattresses?"
- There are only two things that you should ever buy at Wal-Mart: fake nails and self-tanner.
- Doggie in a basket!
- DUK BLD
- These bracelets are the icing on the cake. Me being the cake.
- Hayride '99. You know the one. "He's your cousin?!"
- Collegiate Kate and her tragic demise after a long night at Murray's
While it may seem like stupid inside jokes, the truth of the matter is that Heidi means the world to me. For the last 10 (!) years she's been by my side for all of the ups and downs. I'm overjoyed for her and my other favorite Dan as they begin this stage in their lives.
Now, move over China!
